About Diane Singer Copywriter
SPINNING WORDS INTO PROFITS.
With a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, my career in visual merchandising was launched. Throughout multi-level department stores and boutiques, my eye-catching, persuasive displays transformed browsers into buyers.
After studying photo styling, fashion and beauty at Parsons School of Design, I styled photoshoots for Macy*s. Subsequently, my design and marketing coursework at The Fashion Institute of Technology led to my appointment as the Design Director of a major Fifth Avenue women’s accessories house. In that capacity I shopped the premier fashion markets of Japan, London and New York, predicted trends with pinpoint accuracy, selected must-have seasonal color palettes, styles and fabrics for designs produced in the US, Hong Kong, Italy, China, Taiwan and the Philippines. During that time, I studied creative writing at NYU and began crafting compelling catalogue copy, engaging product and color names as well trend forecasts to support the in-house showroom sales staff and buying teams of Nordstrom’s, Dillard’s, J.C. Penney, Macy*s, HSN, Bloomingdale’s, Talbots, Kohl’s, Liverpool and other major retailers.
Armed with a portfolio of proven, profitable words, I segued into copywriting for a host of retailers. Victoria’s Secret, Liz Claiborne, Macy*s, Land Rover, New York & Co., Chanel, United Retail Group and Bergdorf Goodman were among my direct mail, catalogue and digital clients. I also created copy for advertising and creative agencies such as Rafaj Associates, Coyne Communications and GráficaGroup. Across in-store, digital and print platforms, my fashion and beauty copy-blocks, persuasive taglines, headlines and editorials entice, influence and inform consumers while generating retail revenue.
My extensive expertise in every facet of retail, from a product’s concept to creation, enriches my creative wordsmithing. Cleverly crafting twenty-six letters into content true to each brand’s voice, I masterfully bring merchandise to life and into consumer’s carts.
